In this post I will show you two more islands, Streymoy and Vidoy! Vidoy is the most Northern island where we did an epic hike with views you can’t imagine, and Streymoy is the big center island where the capital city Torshavn is located.

Let’s start with some Lord of the Rings shots though. We decided to hike the Enniberg trail. This is a path that basically goes straight up to the most northern mountain. Lucky the weather was good, so we went for it!

The trail starts near the village of Vidareidi. Here you look over Kunoy, but this time from the other side (remember last post we were on the island behind it, Kalsoy!).

Aaaand we started! Below in the back you see Vidareidi.

Veeery quickly the views became so amazing. But the trail was very steep as you can see from the angle!

It took us around 3 hours to reach the top. You should not do this hike if you have fear of steep cliffs and heights.

The top!

There was still some snow remaining on the top!

The top is like a massive plateau and you can walk all around. There were patches of snow but also sometimes very bright orange rock, as if you were on Mars.

Such steep cliffs, and thousands of birds nesting on it!

Waaaay below you can see Vidareidi!

This rock looks like some ancient troll left his sword there:

But if you go up, you also must go down!

The clouds were rolling in as we descended which made the whole thing even more magical!

We also visited Torshavn and its surroundings on Streymoy. There are some beautiful villages around the island, often with old ruined buildings and in this case a cathedral.

Torshavn is the islands biggest city. It is a very cosy place though, as none of Faroe’s cities can be called “big”!

We went to a very nice bookshop and had a lovely morning in the city! But the mountains were calling us… and so we traveled to the tiny village of Tjornuvik, all the way up north on Streymoy.

We hiked up the mountain and made some coffee and noodles!

The rocks on the coastline were really cool:

The beach was very nice too, we went looking for some shells.

They kind of look like the Faroe Island themselves!
