USA roadtrip pt1: San Fran!

So we made the most-amazing-roadtrip-ever this April, exploring the southwest of America, and it started out in San Francisco!USApt1-26Such a cool city! Our hotel was in the center, next to the awesome Chinatown, a very colorful neighbourhood with lanterns and supercool paintings on the walls. USApt1-9 USApt1-3Lots of good coffeeplaces everywhere!USApt1-13San Francisco is just so colorfulUSApt1-8With our jetlag we woke up everyday around 5:30, which is actually very cool because then we could see the sunrise!USApt1-7So we strolled through the beautiful neighbourhoods in the early morning…USApt1-11USApt1-12USApt1-5Towards Fisherman’s Wharf!USApt1-14Yes that is the famous Alcatraz in the back!USApt1-16Our quiet morning was disturbed by the loud sounds of a bunch of sealions who were chilling on Pier 39 XDUSApt1-15 USApt1-21Man they are noisy haha! We strolled around a bit and made some funny pictures:USApt1-19USApt1-18Visited a small beach!USApt1-20But then, we decided to rent a bike because we definitely positively really really wanted to see the Golden Gate Bridge up close (I missed that last time I was in San Fran for the GDC :-0)USApt1-22yay biking! yay there is it!!USApt1-23Nice and foggy :pUSApt1-24But when we got closer and closer, it got more sunny! USApt1-27That’s one cool bridge I gotta tell yaUSApt1-1-2I mean just look at itUSApt1-28That bridge is just awesome!USApt1-31We took a nice ferry back to Fisherman’s Wharf, going right past AlcatrazUSApt1-30It started to get very very windy, which is apparantly typical San Francisco weather!USApt1-29So it wasn’t even afternoon yet by this time ( I told you we got up at 5:30 :p what a long day!) so we decided to go to a museum! And we chose the Young Museum, because of its impressive collection of art from different cultures and time periods.USApt1-40Some nice views over San Francisco from the museum too!USApt1-32It is a fantastic museum! So much to see and everything is sort of mixed, so you can see the similarities between different styles, artists, time periods and cultures. I loved it!USApt1-33 USApt1-34 USApt1-35The Young Museum is located in Golden Gate Park which is huuuge and beautiful. We were surprised to see a Japanese teagarden with cherryblossoms!!USApt1-36USApt1-37 USApt1-39So we didn’t miss sakura this year :D The Golden gate park is really nice, we strolled around for a while:USApt1-41This place looks like some Elven kings were buried there :pUSApt1-38And thus ended our day in San Francisco. Tomorrow we would pick up our car and start our amazing roadtrip for real :D!!
